In addition to the MGLFF inaugural Prelude event, “Mariquita” opened for three feature films at the Regal South Beach Theaters and the Coral Gables Art Cinema; it was also included in the “What Women Like” shorts program, and opened the “Made in Miami” local film spotlight at the dramatic, open-air 7th floor event space in the 1111 Building on Lincoln Road (photo below of our film in progress with a standing-room only audience of more than 250).

We completed this film April 19, the day before the MGLFF launched their activities at the Miami Beach Cinematheque, and by April 20, the Miami Herald had published an article on the festival that prominently featured our film (published in print for the weekend edition on April 22).
